Lucybell
, the Chilean Rock band fronted by Claudio Valenzuela (voice/guitar), CoteFoncea (drums/voice)and Eduardo Caces (bass/keyboards), is re-invented once again reaffirming their ‘power trio’ formula with their sixth album ‘Lúmina’ which was recently released.

Lucybell began their journey in 1991 when they started playing the university circuit in Santiago, Chile.  In 1995, they released their first album ‘Peces’, which quickly obtained a Gold and Platinum record.  ‘Vete’, the second single  off the album, was chosen as one of the best songs of the year by top radio stations in Chile while its video clip quickly entered rotation on MTV.  That year Lucybell was chosen as ‘Best New Artist of 1995’ by the Association of Entertainment Journalists (APES).

In 1996, Lucybell published their second album ‘Viajar(Gold and Platinum record), followed by a series of massive concerts in USA, Mexico and Latin America.  In late 1997, they received the ‘Best Group in Chile’ award by the Association of Entertainment Journalists (APES) and were invited to perform at the prestigious ‘Canción Viña del Mar’ Festival in 1998.

After collaborating with producers Mario Breuer and Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins  guitarist), Lucybell took control of the entire production of their third album 'Lucybell' (Gold record) which was recorded in Santiago, Chile, mixed in Buenos Aires, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London with engineer Chris Blair (The Beatles/Radiohead).

With material from their three albums, Lucybell released 'Lucybell Singles' which resulted in 12 tracks mapping its history between 1992 and 1998.  Then, two of the members exited the group and Eduardo Caces was incorporated into the band on bass.

The production of their fourth album 'Amanece' (Gold record), started in 1999 when Eduardo and Claudio began composing for the first time as a trio.  Claudio continued his work as guitarist and lyricist while also participating on keyboards.  Eduardo composed guitar parts, keyboards, piano and bass lines and for the first time the band invited a side-musician who accompanied them on trumpet on the tracks ‘Luces no bélicas’ and ‘Esfera’.

After excellent praise for 'Amanece', Lucybell recorded a live album Sesión Futura’ (Gold and Platinum record) that would glue the band’s greatest hits on one record and home video which were released simultaneously in 2001 while celebrating their Ten Year Anniversary.  In 2002, they released a DVD of Sesión Futura with concert footage as well as music video clips and backstage tidbits.  They also worked on the track ‘Ver el fin’ for the film ‘Sangre Eterna’, which wasaccompanied by a video clip directed by the movie’s director Jorge Olguín.

In 2003, Lucybell relocated to Los Angeles and met British sound engineer Adam Moseley (The Cure/Kiss) who was chosen to produce their sixth album Lúmina.  Recorded and mixed at ‘The Boat’, the album reveals growth and a more experimental sound complemented,Claudio’s elegant lyrics and Eduardo’s intensive production efforts completing the band’s new sound.

'Lúmina' was released by Warner Music in March, 2004 in Chile and went Gold in less than two months. Immediately, Lucybell was invited to compose the theme song ‘Solo crees por primera vez’ for the soap opera ‘Destinos Cruzados’ (televised on the National Television of Chile) that was quickly included on the top of the radio charts in Chile. 'Lúmina' was released in the United States, Mexico and Latin America in July. Simultaneously they released the music video clip ‘Hoy soñé’, the second single off the album.

Lucybell was nominated for the ‘MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamerica 2004’ and is touring United States, Mexico, and Latin America.

Counting with 15 years under their belt, Lucybell is considered one of the leaders in the Latin Alternative scene and is prepared to conquer the American audience and devote itself as a favorite Rock band of these times.

Their new album “Comiendo Fuego” is schedule for release in the U.S. on Tuesday, June 27th!
